THE MacNAIR ROOM

Maplehurst Guest House is designed like a boutique hotel, with each room individually decorated in keeping with our Arts and Crafts theme.

The bright, spacious MacNair Room on the first floor offers twin beds, en suite with roll-top bath, TV, DVD, radio, Wifi internet, hospitality tray, robe and slippers.

The characterful room overlooks the rhododendron and cherry trees in the garden, and has been styled with Morris wallpaper, antique Arts and Crafts wardrobe, art deco washstand, period pipework and cosy Scottish textiles.

Herbert MacNair (1868-1955) was a Scottish artist, designer and teacher important in the development of the Glasgow School in the 1890s.
